Captain My Captain

Captain is a funny dog. They call him Captain Courageous at Rex and Roxy's because he is a scared little dog. At the very least he trusts no one. Maybe he is an X-Files fan. He is scared of the camera so most of his photos look like this.

With a lot of treats I was able to get a handsome photo. When we first brought Captain home I had to march and dance around the house to get him acclimated to the fact that we move around in our house and sometimes we move around quickly.

Captain is our sentinel. He barks whenever someone comes near our house. Again, he trusts no one. He sometimes barks at Steve if Steve wears a disguise like a hat or a scarf.

Because Captain is a bit untrusting he most often has his ears back. I thought Motor was a snuggly dog until Captain came along. He is small, light and soft as a baby's bottom. If we sleep in he will get on the bed and ask to be let under the covers. Just don't make any loud noises or quick movements.

Captain gets better adjusted every day. I am running with him now. When I first ran with him he was scared because he thought I was chasing him down. Running with him keeps me alert because I have to constantly look out for what might freak him out. When he freaks out I tend to end up on the ground.
