Yak and Barfi

Margaret invited us to dine on Yak and other foods of Tibet. The Yak was so good. She used two different marinades and her brother Alex grilled the meat. We also had dumplings. Some had spinach & ginger (my favorite), some had chicken and some had beef. There were two delicious dipping sauces, scallion pancakes and tomato bisque with cheese.

I took a dessert that is reportedly from Tibet called Barfi. It is carrots cooked in half & half for an hour then sugar, raisins, butter and nuts are added. It had the consistency of pudding. The Barfi looks creepy but was pretty good.

I'm sure it's good, but it looks exactly like Barfi.

Chris and I tried Barfi at the Indian restaurant here in town and it was yummy!
