Oakhurst hosts a Winter Wine Crawl each year. The proceeds help to fund various projects such as the MLK Service Project. Steve and I volunteered to pour for the event. Selfishly we make sure we get to pour at our favorite restaurant in Oakhurst, Mezcalitos. All of the people that work at Mezcalitos are fantastic and make us feel like family. Plus, everyone enjoys the wine tasted in a restaurant that has onions, garlic, and spices simmering in the kitchen. After the event we enjoyed dinner with friends. However, we did have an uncomfortable encounter with our neighbors that I will report in full later.

Yesterday we were sitting in front of the coffee shop and juice bar, letting the girls drink a smoothie, when we saw your neighbor. Twice. Both times he looked directly at me and pretended not to recognize us. I thought how sad it must be to have been the cause of such negativity that you can't even say hello to your neighbors.
